This programme is designed for operatives who require training on a Vehicle Mounted Hydraulic Loader (HIAB) to the required skill level whether it be a refresher, experienced, novice course, or conversion from other machine types. We will advise on duration and ratios during enquiries

COURSE CONTENT
  • Legislation including Approved Code of Practice (L117), PUWER, LOLER, Etc

  • Basic operation of a Vehicle Mounted Hydraulic Loader including stabilising the vehicle, manoeuvring of the crane, operating on different ground conditions, delivery sites, loading & unloading procedures, etc

  • Operating in confined areas

  • Pre-Operational checks & fault reporting

  • Use of attachments & how to fit to a Vehicle Mounted Hydraulic Loader

  • Underground and overhead services & other hazards

  • Lifting & slinging loads ready for loading/unloading

  • Refuelling Procedures

  • Use of remote control units (If fitted with remote control)

  • Close down and travelling/transport procedures

  • Theoretical & practical examinations

ADDITIONAL INFO

Operatives attending this course should be physically and mentally fit to withstand the rigours of training.

The course content includes awareness of periodic examinations of equipment and pre-use inspections processes

Operatives must have their own PPE for this training including the following basic items: Safety Footwear, Hi-Visibility vest, Gloves, Hearing Protection and additional items such as waterproof pants & Hi-Vis jackets recommended in case of inclement weather

When completing one of our HIAB training courses, 7 hours of CPC training can be included for an additional charge.
